Chapter 6: Multiplication and Division of Fractions

This chapter is all about mastering multiplying and dividing fractions. You will learn the processes involved in multiplying and dividing all kinds of fractions – mixed numbers included! Take the time to watch the videos explaining why the processes for multiplying and dividing fractions work. Your understanding of ‘why’ will pay off huge as you learn connected Math concepts in later Math courses! The final lesson in this chapter ties in how to solve one-step equations involving the multiplication of fractions – a very cool process that will have you flipping from excitement ;) Now go further your fraction abilities!!

  • positive review  It was like divine intervention when my son ASKED me (I know right??) if he could take a class leading up to honors Algebra 2 in the Fall. That same day I came across Matt’s summer offerings. Matt was the perfect teacher - engaging, passionate and fun - and my son really enjoyed taking his class (ENJOYED math in the summer? I know right?). THANK YOU MATT!! He’s ready 👍

positive review  I had Matt Groden for AP Calculus and I have to say, he was and probably will be the greatest teacher I ever had. Not only was he exceptional in terms of his teaching ability and breadth of knowledge, but it is his care for learning was what made him unique. This was the first teacher in a long time that I can remember who valued learning and discovery over just memorizing and ‘teaching to the test’. His ability to make students excited to learn new math material is what makes Matt so perfectly suited for this. Anyone with the chance to learn math with him should most definitely take this opportunity - you will not be disappointed!!

  • Matt is amazing! Both of my children see him weekly and they love when he comes to tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a different perspective on teaching math the the kids really get excited about. I don't think I have met anyone more enthusiastic about math, ever. It's inspiring for the kids to work with someone that truly loves teaching math!

Matt Groden is by far the best math instructor around!!! He has a passion for math and it shows through his ability to break down any math problem, no matter how complicated, into a simple form the student can understand. He is kind, easy going and most importantly, he truly cares about his students.

  • Mr. Groden is passionate about teaching and leading his student to success. My son took his SAT prep course and he had nothing but praise for Mr. Groden. Not only is he a great teacher, but his students like and respect him and therefore are eager to learn. Every time I picked my son up from the class he had something positive to say. I would recommend Mr. Groden's tutoring or SAT Prep to anyone looking for real results from an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher.

Seriously a hero. I was struggling to pass the Praxis Core math section and he was great and fast with setting up a good time to meet and really helped me nail concepts that I needed. I highly recommend meeting with Matt if you feel yourself struggling in any area of math! Thank you again!

  • Because he was in this class, my son spent more time doing SAT practice tests this summer than he otherwise would have. I didn't have to "nag" him to do practice tests...so, I appreciate that! He ended up knowing alot of the kids in the class, so he enjoyed it. It was also nice to do this in the summer when his schedule was less-busy. The teachers are high energy, well-respected and admired by the kids.

My daughter had a great experience in Mr. Groden's SAT prep class. We had been searching for an effective affordable option and this in person class was just the right choice!! Excellent follow up and communication of expectations each week prior to class helped the kids keep on track. It also helped me know what was covered and what was expected of her. Nice work! I highly recommend!

Mr. Groden really helped me learn the subject of geometry very well. He related certain topics to the interest of the student which helped a lot. The pointers he gave for study habits were definitely very helpful and I would recommend Mr. Groden to anybody.

  • Matt helped my daughter prepare for a test last minute when another tutor canceled only a few hours before the session! You can tell Matt genuinely cares about the students success. We hope to enroll in one of his summer sessions and SAT prep courses. Thanks again, Matt!

I was lucky enough to have Mr. Groden as my teacher for two classes throughout high school. In school, math was never my strong suite but Mr. Groden was able to use real life examples that pertained to myself that helped me with understanding the math. After a couple of years, I started attending Rider University where I studied Business. I hadn't been in a math class in years so when I found out that I had to take Quantitative Methods for Business, I knew that I was in trouble. After receiving my first test and seeing that I received a low C, I reached out to Mr. Groden to see if he were doing any tutoring and surly enough he was. Mr. Groden met with me once a week and again was able to use real life examples that pertained to myself and I was able to understand the math. I ended the semester receiving an A in the class, and I know 100% I would not have reached that without Mr. Grodens help. Thank you!

  • positive review  Matt does a fantastic job of helping the students understand how to apply formulas and why they work! He never just has the students memorize formulas. My son really liked his approach and it helped that he made videos to refer to when he needed a refresher during the week. I would highly recommend his courses!

Matt - is an amazing teacher - his method of communication in order to ensure a complete understanding of the concepts was clearly reflected in my son's test scores once he started working with Matt - it was instantaneous. We were blessed to get terrific recommendations for Matt and he jumped in and my son loved working with Matt. I would recommend him to anyone and hope to continue to work with him remotely for college calc.

  • Matt cannot be more highly recommended as a math tutor or teacher. His ability to explain difficult concepts in an easy to understand fashion is phenomenal. The enthusiasm he displays is contagious and allows the student to become more actively engaged. He always tries to relate the topics to areas of interest and works hard to make a personal connection.

Mr Groden has the ability to make calculus (and math in general) fun, meaningful, relevant, etc. and to relate complex concepts in a way that not only makes sense, but also gives the students the ability to re-apply the concepts later on. Our son had Mr. Groden as his calculus teacher in high school, and our daughter has now used Mr. Groden's services for both SAT prep and AB Calculus weekly review. Both have been excellent and more than worth the money spent.
